Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Almost two months after the world-famous Budweiser Clydesdales took up residence at the Illinois State Fairgrounds for a series of special events, more Clydesdales will be there in October.

The “World Clydesdale Show” will be at the fairgrounds October 1-5, according to a news release from the Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A.  The five days of events there are free and open to the public.

The Clydesdale Breeders say, according to a news release, more than 700 exhibitors, will be in attendance featuring 2,400 entries.  There will be competition in hitch classes from cart up to six-and-eight horse hitches.  The entrants will come from the United States, Canada, Scotland, and Europe.

And, the organization says, the Budweiser Clydesdales will make a return.

“The Illinois State Fairgrounds will host the show, utilizing its modern facilities, renovated coliseum, and covered arena,” said a news release.

The Clydesdale Breeders of the U.S.A. was founded in 1879.
