Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Two weekend shootings in Springfield have resulted, so far, in one person being arrested, and one person being seriously injured.

Springfield Police say Aumaurionne Flowers, 45, was arrested early Saturday on a number of weapons-related offenses after shots were fired on South 9th Street near Pine, and near his home.

A search of the home allegedly turned up two guns that police say Flowers wasn’t supposed to have.

Flowers is facing charges including Aggravated Discharge of a Firearm, Reckless Discharge of a Firearm, Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, Unlawful Possession of a Weapon by a Convicted Felon, and Possession of a Firearm — No FOID — Ineligible.  He’s in the Sangamon County Jail pending a court hearing.

Police say in a second incident, a man was taken to the hospital after what they said were multiple shots fired near Livingston and Clear Lake late Sunday afternoon.  That man has what was called a “critical” gunshot wound and is still being treated.

Officers say anyone with information on either shooting should call Springfield Police or Sangamon and Menard County Crime Stoppers.
