Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Saint Louis Cardinals will be visiting the University of Illinois Springfield (UIS) next Saturday, January 17, at 1:15 PM as part of the 2026 Cardinal Caravan. The Cardinal Caravan is set to spread the joys of baseball across six states in the course of only four days, one of those stops happens to be our capitol city.

Mike Hermann, the Athletic Director at UIS, was a guest on the WTAX Morning Newswatch and spoke about the excitement to be had in not only his athletic teams, but to the patrons as well.

Hermann stated that “It will be fun for our fans, and the whole family. Our game is a double header that day, we have our women’s team starting, and the Cardinal Caravan will be there through that entire game which starts at one pm. Followed by our men’s team around 2:30. Tickets are affordable as adults pay 10 dollars, and kids tickets, all the way up to the age of 18, are 5 dollars, and you get to leave with two Cardinals game tickets”

If you have children and plan to attend this game, you could have some good treats from the Cardinals in store for you, anyone attending under the age of 15 will get an autograph from one of the members of the Cardinals, and anyone 16 or older will receive a voucher for 2 tickets to a 2026 Cardinals game.

The Cardinals Caravan is set to be at the UIS game against Southwest Baptist next Saturday, January 17, and will be active starting at 1:15PM.
