Teen seriously injured in Rochester shooting

Rochester, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A teenager is seriously injured after a shooting late Tuesday afternoon in Rochester.

Not many details are being released by Rochester Police, but they say in a statement it happened close to 4:30 p.m. on North Oak Street.

An 18-year-old was taken to an unidentified hospital with a gunshot wound that was described as life-threatening.

Authorities say there was no further threat to the public.

Anyone who has information to provide to the investigation can call Rochester Police, the Sangamon County Sheriffs Department, or Sangamon and Menard County Crime Stoppers.
