Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Some suspect sabotage in the fire which has indefinitely disabled downtown’s Wyndham hotel.

Citizen Ken Pacha pointed to an Illinois Times story while complaining to the city council Tuesday. “That’s the kind of behavior we are going to keep running into if we don’t take seriously the kind of people that take possession of the buildings in our city,” he said.

“That was a private sale,” said Ald. Ralph Hanauer. “The city hasn’t had anything to do with it.”

Unpaid utility bills were just one problem between the hotel and the city.
