Springfield, IL (WAND) – A firefighter was hurt while battling a fire near Springfield Saturday.

According to Springfield Fire Fighters Local 37, crews responded to a barn on fire in the 4000 block of Tuxhorn Road just after 7 p.m.

At around 7:30 p.m., the department gave an update that a firefighter was injured at the scene.

According to the department, it would not share any further information at this time.

It is unclear what condition the firefighter is in or what led to the injury.
