Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Meet Scooby, our Friends of Sangamon County Animal Control Dog of the Week.

Scooby is a German Shepherd mix boy approximately 1 1/2 years old. He’s been living in a kennel at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center since the beginning of November when he came in as a stray.

Kennel life is no life for a great young guy like Scooby. He’s playful and has done well with other dogs in play groups. Like any young dog he can be excitable, but he also listens to his handler and is very attentive.

Scooby loves people and soaking up attention, and has been very well behaved at off-site adoption events. Unfortunately, Scooby makes a terrible first impression in his kennel because he gets so excited and wants to get out. When you come to meet him please spend some time outside walking him and playing with him so you can see what a great companion he will be.

You can meet Scooby and all of the other adoptable pets at Sangamon County Animal Control and Adoption Center during shelter hours: Monday-Friday 10:30-4:15 and Saturday 9:00-1:00.
