Meet Duke — APL Dog of the Week

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Meet Duke, a laid-back Hound/Basset mix with a big heart and an independent streak.

He’s housebroken, knows sit, down, and stay, and loves playing with toys—on his own terms, of course. Duke is affectionate but a bit of a loner, preferring quiet companionship over constant attention. He’d do best as the only pet in a calm, cozy home where he can fully embrace his true calling: being lazy.

If you’re looking for a mellow, low-maintenance buddy to share your space (and your couch), Duke might just be the perfect fit.
