Man goes to prison for fatal Lincoln accident

Lincoln, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A Lincoln man accused of driving drunk and causing a crash that killed a woman a month and a half ago is going to prison.

Court records indicate Shaun Cook, 38, pleaded guilty Wednesday to a felony charge of Aggravated Driving Under the Influence and sentenced to nine years in prison with credit for 49 days served in jail.

Another similar count was dismissed in exchange.

The accident May 18th in Lincoln near Logan and Peoria Streets claimed the life of a passenger in a van, Christine Shaub, 66.

Cook was driving an SUV that hit the other vehicle.
