Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Midterm elections typically serve as a pendulum, which means Democrats stand to gain next year. At least, that’s what Gov. JB Pritzker is hoping.

“Since the dawn of the Republic, political parties have won and lost elections, and then won again,” said the governor, “and that’s what’s going to happen to us in 2026!”

The governor spoke on Governor’s Day on the Director’s Lawn at the Illinois State Fair Wednesday. The Republicans get their shot Thursday.
