Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A man incarcerated for a warrant for burglary and theft escaped from the Sangamon County Jail Wednesday. Chane L. Jones, 42, left the jail after mingling with three other inmates who were released from custody.
Jones was apprehended in the 1100 block of North 5th Street in Springfield by U.S. Marshals and Sangamon County Sheriff’s deputies. Now back in custody, Jones is facing additional charges, and the escape is under investigation.
