Illinois lowers flags to half-staff for Jesse Jackson

Chicago, IL (CHAMBANA TODAY) – Governor JB Pritzker has issued a proclamation to honor the life and legacy of Reverend Jesse Louis Jackson, calling for flags to be flown at half-staff across the state. The Department of Central Management Services has received notice that all persons and entities covered by the Illinois Flag Display Act should lower both the United States and State flags at all buildings occupied by state agency personnel.

The flags will remain at half-staff until sunset on Saturday, February 28. Reverend Jackson, a prominent civil rights leader and advocate for social justice, is being remembered for his decades of impactful service and commitment to equality.
