Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Republicans brought a distinctly Texas flavor to the proceedings on their day at the Illinois State Fair.

Republicans in the Lone Star State have been attempting a mid-decade redistricting intended to add to their numbers in Congress. “If we do a new census,” said Texas GOP chairman Abraham George, “I think blue states are going to lose about twenty (U.S. House) seats. So that’s why (Democrats) are all upset about this, but it is the right time.

“We finally have a president who is fighting for America.”

“Look what happened in November 2024,” Illinois Republican Party chairwomen Kathy Salvi said. “Through our hard work in all 102 counties, we brought Trump’s numbers to within single digits” in Illinois. The state’s Republicans last won a statewide election in 2014.
