Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A former acting CEO and Chief Operating Officer of Springfield Clinic has moved a few blocks north to Memorial Health.

According to a news release issued Friday, Jennifer “Jen” Boyer has taken on the new role of senior vice president and chief nursing executive.  Boyer started in the job June 22.

Memorial says Boyer will “oversee operations at Memorial Health primary care, specialty care, and urgent care clinics. She will also guide professional nursing practice, development and workforce strategies across Memorial, working closely with chief nursing officers at the five hospitals.”

“Jen’s professional background and expertise uniquely position her for this role,” said Mandy Eaton, CEO, in the news release. “Her understanding of the local healthcare landscape and the needs of our communities make her the ideal leader for our nurses across all settings.”

Before moving to Memorial Health, Boyer spent 14 years at Springfield Clinic.

“I’m very familiar with the culture of nursing excellence and patient focused care at Memorial Health in both the hospital and clinic settings,” Boyer said in the news release. “With ever changing innovation, I’m looking forward to helping Memorial elevate a culture where nurses thrive, patients feel seen and safe, and clinical teams are empowered to deliver their very best every day.”
