Nokomis, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Nokomis Police report in the overnight hours Wednesday they received information a possible explosive device or devices were located inside an abandoned residence.

According to a news release, residents in the area were advised to evacuate while authorities searched the area after obtaining a search warrant.

Law enforcement found items resembling pipe bombs, which they removed from the premises and deemed them to be non-explosive after analysis.

No actual explosive devices were located.
