Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) -This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to help the Springfield Police Department to identify an individual in reference to criminal damage.
On July 30, 2026, around 5:30 pm, a white male was seen in the 700 block of West Miller in Springfield loitering around the area. Video shows the white male walk over to a utility pole and began tampering with wires at the base. The suspect then cuts an internet service line and before fleeing the area.

Anyone with information regarding this incident, or can identify the suspect, call Crime Stoppers anonymously at 217-788-8427, submit a tip on our website or use the P3 app. If your tip results in an arrest, you could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.
