Crime of the Week:  Help needed identifying suspect in November downtown damage incident

Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – This week, Crime Stoppers is seeking information to assist the Springfield Police Department in reference criminal damage that occurred at Identi-Check, located at 3 North Old State Capitol Plaza, in Springfield.

On November 24, 2025, officers were called to the business for a report of a window being broken out. Video shows that around 2 a.m., a black male wearing a gray jacket and black pants outside the business, picked up a brick and threw it at the building, causing over $10,000 in damage.
