Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Sangamon County has not forgotten about Brenda Bottoms (pictured).

The Auburn woman was 22 when she was last seen June 28, 1987, in the 200 block of North Fifth Street in Auburn.

A news release from the Sangamon County Sheriff’s Office says Bottoms and a friend walked to a bar and back, then went into an apartment with two men to talk. Bottoms was last seen getting into a brown vehicle which had dents on the side.

The sheriff’s department says it has developed new information over the past year suggesting that more people saw Bottoms before her disappearance.

“The Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone who may have information related to this case, no matter how minor it may seem, to come forward,” said Sheriff Paula Crouch in the news release. “Even small details could prove significant in advancing this investigation and helping us provide answers to Brenda’s family.”

Anybody with information may call the sheriff’s department at 217-753-6840 or Crime Stoppers at 217-788-8427. You may also submit a tip via cashfortips.us.
