Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – The Buscher administration has released its budget proposal for the twelve months beginning March 1.

The corporate fund, accounting for most expenses aside from CWLP, is projected as $176.7 million. That’s about $800,000 down from the current year and almost $6 million lower than FY 25. A note reminds us that was the year the city built three firehouses.

Department heads will make their respective cases to aldermen as follows:

Jan. 14 – treasurer, council, mayor, convention and tourism bureau.

Jan. 15 – library, planning and economic development, human resources, public works, management and budget

Jan. 22 – police, fire, CWLP

All three budget workshops are scheduled to start at 5:30 p.m.
