(CAPITOL CITY NOW) – A sweeping modernization of Illinois cannabis regulations is now law.

Hosting Thursday’s bill-signing at her SWAY dispensary in Chicago, Edie Moore said, “SB 3222 doubles what an adult can carry, it expands who gets their records cleared, it closes the intoxicating hemp loophole that’s been undercutting regulated business and putting kids and consumers at risk.

“Illinois now recognizes sickle-cell anemia, endometriosis, ovarian cysts, uterine fibroids, and female orgasmic disorder as qualifying conditions for medical cannabis.”

Pritzker said the state is taking on intoxicating hemp once and for all.

“Parents shouldn’t have to worry that a product containing intoxicating levels of THC is deceptively packaged as a bag of candy in a convenience store,” said Pritzker. “Consumers shouldn’t have to guess whether a product has been tested or accurately labeled. In Illinois, we are putting long overdue commonsense regulations in place.”
