Springfield, IL (CAPITOL CITY NOW) – Starting later this month, the Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance will host a series of sessions with the community designed to help minority businesses and companies, but also anyone in the public who wants to learn what SSGA does.  Ryan McCrady, SSGA CEO, talks with Will Stevenson on the WTAX Morning Newswatch.

The Springfield Sangamon Growth Alliance is partnering with Dominic Watson and CAP 1908, to host their new Monthly Business and Community Sessions.

McCrady shared that the first meeting will be an introduction to who SSGA is and then the following meetings will cover a variety of interesting topics like, “how does the growth alliance help businesses find sites and how can they help you and help your business find a site, incentives that might help you get your business up and running, and marketing on a limited budget”.

To educate, network, and share their services are some of the reasons behind the new sessions.

When asked why he believes minority owned businesses have a tougher time staying in business, McCrady explained, “exposure is a really important part of knowing how to build your business. I believe that sometimes minority business owners don’t get exposed to as of wide range of resources as others do and so we need to make sure we are very deliberate about building the connections”.

The first session is September 25th from 4 to 6pm at the Cap 1908 building located on the corner of South Grand and 11th Street. The sessions are free and are open to entrepreneurs and members of the community.
